During your first year you will explore diverse areas like Corporate and Investment, Business, and Retail Banking, and gain exposure to functions such as Risk, Compliance, People and Culture. By your second year, you'll step into a specialised role that aligns with your strengths and ambitions, paving the way for your future success and leadership. At the end of the 24-month programme, your performance will be reviewed and if you meet required criteria, you could be offered a permanent position within the organisation.

Here’s how the Absa Graduate Programme recruitment process works

  • Step 1: Submit your Curriculum Vitae (CV) through our online platform before Wednesday, 18 December 2024.

  • Step 2: If selected, you'll be invited to an online cognitive assessment which will help us understand your problem-solving abilities, reasoning skills, and how you handle different challenges.

  • Step 3: Do an Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered video interview, which will assess your responses based on various factors such as communication skills, critical thinking, and alignment with our company values.

  • Step 4: Attend the virtual assessment centre which will include group activities, individual exercises, and problem-solving tasks designed to assess your teamwork, leadership, and decision-making abilities.

  • Step 5: Do a final in-person interview, in order to reflect on what you’ve learned throughout the process and to further showcase how your skills, values, and ambitions align with our company’s goals.

  • Step 6: If you have successfully navigated through all 5 previous steps, you’ll receive an official offer to join the Absa Graduate Programme and embark on an exciting career journey with us.

You qualify for the Absa Graduate Programme if:
  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in Economics, Banking, Data Science, Engineering, Psychology, Tourism, Digital Technologies, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, or equivalent qualification with a minimum grade of 2:1

  • You have a no more than 2 years of work experience

  • You possess a strong command of IT tools, with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access

    The programme is scheduled to start early 2025. Candidates who are selected will be provided with all necessary details regarding the start date orientation process.

  • Is the graduate programme a full-time position?

    Yes, the graduate programme is a full-time position that offers a competitive starting salary and benefits such as health insurance and a transport allowance.

  • How many rotations will I go through during the programme?

    During the first year of the programme, you will undergo at least four rotations across various business functions, such as Corporate Investment Banking, Retail and Business Banking (RBB), and Enablement (for example: Risk, Compliance), within Absa Mauritius. Based on your performance and business needs, you will be placed in a specific function for the second year of the programme.

  • What is the deadline to apply for the graduate programme?

    The deadline to apply will be on Wednesday 18 December 2024.
