Ajay Angoteea, Head of Sustainable Finance and DFI Coverage at Absa Mauritius, proudly participated at the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28). The event, which presents a pivotal moment for global collaboration and action on climate change, was held in Dubai under the theme ‘A COP for All, and a COP of Action’ from 30 November to 12 December.
Ajay had the opportunity to showcase Absa Mauritius’ commitment to sustainability as a responsible corporate and engage with global leaders, experts, and stakeholders on the impact of climate change on business and our society. He represented Absa Mauritius on two panel discussions:
- Greening the Financial Sector
- A circular economy approach to low-carbon transition
COP28 presents a pivotal moment for global collaboration and action on climate change and our participation is not just about showcasing our commitment to sustainability but it is also about actively engaging with global leaders, experts and stakeholders on the impact of climate change on business and our society.
As we engage in COP28 activities, we are eager to contribute to meaningful dialogues and initiatives that align with our purpose of empowering Africa's tomorrow, together, one story at a time.
