How can I check if the account number I have belongs to the correct person or business?
Click or tap the ‘Verify account’ link when you’re paying someone new or viewing a saved beneficiary’s details. Please note:
- Each verification request has a cost (see ‘Charges’).
- If you’re verifying a person’s account, you need to have their ID number, initials and surname.
- If you’re verifying a business account, you need to have the company name and registration number.
Account verification is currently only available for these banks:
- Absa
- African Bank
- Capitec
- First National Bank (FNB)
- Nedbank
- Standard Bank
